Who We Are
Two decades of compassionate service, community transformation and measurable impact across Kerala.
Transforming Lives Through Compassion & Action
ATMA Foundation — the Association for Total Mobilisation Action — is a registered non-profit voluntary organisation headquartered in Thrissur, Kerala, India. Founded in 2003, we have spent over two decades working at the grassroots level to improve the lives of children, adolescents, youth, women, senior citizens, and rural communities.
We believe that sustainable social change begins with empowered individuals. Our programmes are designed to address root causes of vulnerability — through education, health, emotional well-being, livelihood support and community development — rather than providing short-term relief alone.
ATMA Foundation is the first non-profit organisation from Kerala to register on India's Social Stock Exchange, demonstrating our commitment to transparency, accountability and measurable impact reporting.
Our Core Values
Vision & Mission
Our Vision
Empowered communities where people lead happy lives with healthy relationships and serve fellow beings with compassion, for sustainable development.
We envision a Kerala — and an India — where no child goes without education, no family lacks access to health and counselling support, and no senior citizen is left without care and dignity.
Our Mission
Contributing to improve the lives of people by meeting their developmental needs through:
- Empowering individuals and communities through targeted programmes
- Enabling and engaging volunteers to serve through social transformation
- Partnering with governments, corporates and civil society for greater impact
- Promoting transparency and accountability in all our operations
Our Founder
Suresh K. Nair
Founder & Executive Director, ATMA Foundation
With over two decades of grassroots social work experience in Kerala, the founder of ATMA Foundation envisioned an organisation that would go beyond charity — building genuine community empowerment through structured, sustainable programmes.
Since establishing ATMA Foundation in 2003, the organisation has grown from a small volunteer group in Thrissur to a recognised institution serving hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries across Kerala, with the distinction of being the first nonprofit from the state to list on India's Social Stock Exchange.
The founder's philosophy centres on the belief that real change happens when communities are empowered to lead their own transformation — with ATMA serving as a catalyst, not a dependency.
